The dental implant is biologically compatible with the body thanks to its titanium compounds. Since the teeth in front of, behind, and opposite the missing tooth in the mouth cover the missing toothed area over time, dental implants must be applied. This application is a successful treatment option that is recommended because it fills the place of tooth loss and stops the resorption of the jawbone. With dental implants, a longer-lasting and healthy result is obtained compared to traditional methods and total prostheses, and a more natural appearance is obtained.
How is Dental Implant Application Performed?
Dental implant application, which is one of the methods used to eliminate tooth deficiencies and restore the old aesthetic appearance and function of the teeth, is performed under local anesthesia without causing pain to the patient.
In the first stage of the application, the patient's bone density is measured and the tooth structure is examined. If the bone density and amount are unsuitable for the implant, bone grafting is applied and the area is expected to ossify. After the ossification has taken place, the implant tooth is placed. In order to start the prosthesis phase, the implant must fuse to the jawbone. After the implants are surgically placed in the jawbone, many patients can return to their social life on the same day. Generally, it is left to heal for 2-4 months, if it is not enough, this period is extended. After the healing period, a second surgical procedure is performed with the healing caps that open the implant and shape the gingiva. These caps are necessary to make the tooth to be prosthesis appear as if it is coming out of the gum.
